PacifiCan is inviting Black-led, incorporated not-for-profit organizations in British Columbia to apply for funding under the Black Entrepreneurship Program (BEP) Ecosystem Fund.

This initiative aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem by empowering organizations that provide direct support, mentorship, and resources to Black entrepreneurs and business owners. A total of $3.8 million in funding will be distributed to help build sustainable structures for growth, collaboration, and inclusion within the Black business community.

 
Why This Matters

The BEP Ecosystem Fund is more than just financial support—it’s an opportunity to drive lasting impact within British Columbia’s Black business landscape. The program focuses on:

  • Capacity Building: Strengthening the ability of Black-led organizations to deliver impactful business support services.

  • Entrepreneurial Growth: Helping Black entrepreneurs connect, innovate, and scale their ventures.

  • Collaboration & Community: Encouraging partnerships with organizations such as the Federation of African Canadian Economics (FACE) and the Black Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub to ensure province-wide reach and impact.

 

Prize Details 
  • Deadline: Submit a completed application by 12:00 PM PST on November 28, 2025.
  • Funding: Organizations may request up to $3 million in non-repayable contributions for eligible activities.

Eligible projects include:

  • Incubation and acceleration programs for Black founders.

  • Mentorship and networking initiatives to build strong connections.

  • Programs promoting entrepreneurship participation within Black communities.

  • Other activities that strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in alignment with BEP objectives.

 

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, your organization must:
  • Be an incorporated, Black-led not-for-profit organization based in British Columbia.
  • Have at least two-thirds of leadership and governance positions held by individuals who self-identify as Black.
  • Have a mandate focused on supporting Black communities and entrepreneurs in B.C.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to deliver business support programs and reach Black entrepreneurs effectively.

 

Application Process 

Applications will be evaluated on their:

  • Alignment with the goals of the Black Entrepreneurship Program.

  • Measurable economic and social outcomes.

  • Collaboration plans with ecosystem partners and stakeholders.

  • Financial management capacity and confirmed co-funding from other sources.

  • Proven experience supporting Black entrepreneurs in B.C.
