The Conservation, Food & Health Foundation uses a two?phase application system (concept note followed by invited full proposal) to identify practical, innovative projects with strong potential for learning, replication, and policy influence.

The program aims to provide seed funding that can help organizations secure additional resources, strengthen skills and systems, and deliver benefits that extend beyond a single project site.

Grantees can receive targeted support for direct project activities such as research, field implementation, training, and technical assistance rather than general operating or overhead costs.

Successful organizations gain credibility with an established international foundation, potentially improving their ability to leverage further funding and partnerships.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants include local, state, and regional NGOs, nonprofits, civil society and community?based organizations, and academic or research institutions in eligible regions, as well as Global North organizations collaborating closely with local partners.

Governments, religious organizations as primary applicants, for?profit entities, and projects designed for private gain (including those restricting intellectual property from the public domain) are not eligible for direct funding.

How to Apply

Applicants must first submit a short online concept application (LOI) through the grant portal, using access code CFHgrants after registering or logging into their account.

Within about one month of the concept deadline, selected applicants are invited to submit a full proposal by the indicated proposal deadline for that cycle.
