The UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women and Girls (UN Trust Fund) has opened its 2025 Call for Proposals, inviting civil society organizations worldwide to apply for new grants. This year’s theme — “Resourcing Resilience: Investing in Civil Society Leadership to End Violence against Women and Girls” — focuses on strengthening the capacity and sustainability of feminist and women-led movements that continue to lead efforts to end violence in challenging contexts.

Civil society organizations on the frontlines of ending violence against women and girls are facing intense pressure — shrinking civic space, rising resistance, and widening funding gaps. At the same time, the demand for life-saving services and prevention of violence is greater than ever. This Call for Proposals responds to the urgent need for long-term, flexible funding and wraparound support that enable civil society and women’s organizations to remain resilient and continue leading transformative change.

Prize Details 

• The UN Trust Fund will provide four-year grants to civil society organizations working to address violence against women and girls, especially those serving structurally marginalized groups.

• Grant duration: 4 years

• Funding range: USD 150,000 to USD 800,000

Flexible funding allocations:

• Small organizations: up to 18% of the grant (in addition to contingency and indirect costs)

• Large organizations: up to 12% of the grant (in addition to contingency and indirect costs)

• Application period: 18 September – 19 November 2025 (2:00 PM, New York time / EST)

Focus Areas 

Proposals should contribute to one or more of the following outcomes:

1. Improving access for women and girls to essential, specialist, safe, and quality multisectoral services.

2. Preventing violence through changes in behaviors, practices, and attitudes.

3. Strengthening laws, policies, and accountability systems to end violence against women and girls.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants include civil society organizations, with priority given to:

• Women’s and girls’ rights organizations

• Women-led organizations

• Constituent-led organizations

• Small organizations

Eligibility Checklist

You are eligible to apply if:

1. Your organization is a civil society organization (CSO).

2. Your organization has at least 5 years of experience working on projects to end violence against women and girls (3 years for newer organizations).

3. Your project will take place in 1 to 10 countries listed on the OECD DAC official development assistance (ODA) list.

4. Your organization has certified financial statements for the past 3 years (2022, 2023, 2024).

5. Your organization has an average annual budget of at least USD 50,000 over the past 3 years.

6. If your organization has previously received a UN Trust Fund grant, your most recent grant must be closed by 19 November 2025.

7. Your organization has not submitted more than one application under this Call (either as lead or partner).
